Dogs are STOLEN everyday - have your dog microchipped. Dogs are stolen and end up in stray dog pounds miles from home. If they are not claimed within 7 days they can be rehomed or killed. Hundreds of 'stray' dogs are rehomed or killed every week because their owner cannot be identified. You have no right to claim the dog after 7 days. A microchip can also be used to prove that the dog is yours if ownership is disputed. Click here for more information. Your dog is valuable to you - and to thieves! Dogs and puppies are being stolen everyday. Do not leave your dog tied up outside a shop or leave it in a car! Check how many dogs go 'missing' from gardens! Very hard to see but she does have a scar on both knees as she has had an opperation on each one. 8 years but looks younger. She was only clipped the day before she was taken so has very short hair. Behaviour was totally out of character, she has never done this before, something must have spooked her. Owners have searched for her since then, have printed posters, reported her missing to the RSPCA, Police and Dog Warden. At the moment there has been no sightings of her. She is a nervous little thing but not aggressive, so she is quite likely to bolt if cornered. Spooked and ran from house in Elm Park, Romford, Essex on 14th June 2009 at midnight. She has always come back when this has happened before but this time did not. Owners searched woods and area but no sign. Yesterday afternoon they found an small area scattered with lumps of her hair just off one of the footpaths in the wood. Very odd as looks like a dog has been stolen as no sign of fight or blood or her collar. Other local dog walker had seen the hair there on Wed. It seems likely that she has been stolen. 1st June: Jack Russell Terrier Missing from Chipperfield/Penmans Green/Sarratt area of Hertfordshire. Jack Russell Terrier, female. Click on the picture for a larger photo. Smooth-coated. Black and white. White area of her body is dotted with black spots so she looks like a miniature Dalmatian. Small. 6½ years old. Wearing a collar. Microchipped. When she went missing she was wearing a red collar with an ID disc on it engraved with owner’s name and home telephone. Missing since 2nd March, 2009 from Chipperfield/Penmans Green/Sarratt area of Hertfordshire. LD6199 1st June: Jack Russell Terrier Missing from Ealing, West London. Jack Russell Terrier, female. Mainly white with a few brown markings. Short, coarse hair that falls out very easily. Scar on belly due to neutering. Docked tail. Very large ears. Not close to ground, quite tall for a Jack Russell, a little shorter than a West Highland White Terrier, and slim. About 12 months old. Wearing a collar. Microchipped. Ran away on a walk on 15th May 2009 in Ealing, West London. LD6198 31st May: One eyed Bernese Mountain Dog Missing from Clanfield, Hampshire. Bernese Mountain Dog, female. Tri-coloured. Clipped coat. She has had her left eye removed. 4 years old. Red collar. Missing on 29th May 09 in Clanfield, Hampshire. LD6196 30th May: American Bulldog Missing from Wyke, Bradford, West Yorkshire. American Bulldog, male, not neutered. Short haired. White with brown patch over right eye and ear. Black nose pinkish muzzle. Couple of small scars on his muzzle. Large build approx. 65cm tall. 18 months old. Wearing a red, half webbing half chain collar. Escaped from the house late on Friday 29/5/09 in Wyke, Bradford, West Yorkshire. LD6195 28th May: Yorkshire Terrier Missing from Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey. Yorkshire Terrier, male, neutered. Tan/black/grey. Very lively and friendly. No collar due to tracheal collapse. 4 years old. Microchipped. Went missing from home on 22 May 2009 in Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey. LD6194 28th May: Yorkshire Terrier Stolen from Tongham, Farnham, Surrey. Toy Yorkshire Terrier, female. Black and grey on back with a tan face and body. Short haired. Pimple in middle of head between ears, tongue on the left hand side droops due to no teeth, red sore under neck, has wet paws due to constant licking, hearing and eye sight not good. About size of 2lb bag of sugar. 12 years old. She may be mistaken for a puppy, has trouble breathing needs medication and special diet. Stolen on 21st May 2009 from 'The Street', Tongham, Farnham, Surrey. LD6193 
28th May: Border Collie Missing from Morwenstow, Bude, Cornwall. Brooke is a 2 year old black and white collie. She has a white stripe on face, white muzzle, white front and legs. LD6191 Contact lost2@dogrescue.info 27th May: Dalmatian Needs a Home - Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK Cassie is a 21 month old liver coloured deaf Dalmatian. She comes complete with full pedigree certificate and is also kennel club registered. Please don't let the fact that she is deaf put you off as she is a really great pet. She has trained so much easier than a hearing dog and it certainly does not affect her in any way. She is a brilliant family dog as I have 3 children who she adores and has enjoyed many an hour playing with them burning off so much of her energy. She is not in any way an aggressive dog and enjoys being allowed off her lead during long walks. It is with great regret and upset that we have decided to find her a new home and it is only due to ill health. Stolen from Epsom, Surrey.Florence, Mostly Bearded Collie, female, neutered. More similar to a Beardie. Mainly black and white, her front paws look as though she is wearing white socks. Her left front leg is completely white. Scar on her right ear from recent operation. She has an ear condition called otitis. 10 years old. Wearing a blue fabric collar when she disappeared.
